Whilst it is designed to work within a child of Twenty Eleven, it should be possible to adapt the template to suit other themes. If you are using another theme, remember that you will need to replicate the html structure of your own theme within the template.

You can then save your new template as pageofposts.php, upload it to your theme and then assign the Page of Posts template to your new Page via the Page Template Dropdown.

So rather than explaining how to create a child theme again… and again… and again, I’ve uploaded two new theme downloads – a Twenty Ten child theme & a Twenty Eleven child theme.

Please note that these downloadable child themes do not implement any changes. They are purely “blank slates” for you add your own customisations to.

Simply upload the themes to your WordPress site, activate one of them and start customising!

Apologies to anyone who was hit by this bug. Please update to the new version to correct the problem. Thanks also to the wordpress.org Theme Review Team who managed to get the new version into the Theme Repository within 24 hours of the updated version being submitted.

ZV contains its own header, footer, front page and sidebar templates but these are mainly trimmed-down variants of the original theme. Most of the heavy customisation work is pure CSS. The end result is a very minimalistic look with a de-cluttered display that makes good use of the Open Sans Google font.

Thanks to stug2000 for bringing this to my attention. How everyone else managed to miss it over the last 8 months is completely beyond me!

All of the same functionality as its parent theme but with a blue skin. Hopefully, this is the first of a a range of child themes for ZenLite to be released over the next few weeks. The focus will be a range of different colours rather than any additional functionality as the theme appears to fulfil a particular need amongst users as a simple, single column, design.

I’ve logged the issue on Trac and fixed the issue in the theme for the time being.
