huh? that is as simple as having a template without the sidebar included - not really suitable for a plugin.

deactivating eShop does not lose any data - you'd have to use the uninstall for data to be erased. So updating shouldn't be a problem.

Hi,
I came in from this post:

http://wordpress.org/support/topic/276903

I have also bookmarketed you eshop plugin - very smooth.

I have a question, about a possible plugin idea -I am looking at getting a plungin that allow a page to be created (in wordpress) which has the header/footer only (so no side bar)

I see a lot of demand for this for those in the internet marketing area, who want to have a blog, but also a static site/home page. I can't seem to find anything available....(most have zero tech skills so thats the plungin idea)

Thoughts - ideas?

Screenshots : there are some old videos, and a list of sites with people using eShop - which is far more effective.

Gaz - yes an oversight, I'll add the info to the help page within the plugin. Currently I have no plans to alter how this functions.

Right - I've solved the image handling problem under WP 2.81 and eShop 3.6.0

It's not a blindingly obvious piece of logic, but it is something that might only affect advanced users (the ones who in theory should not be suffering from this issue).

Background - I use heavily customised themes that are extremely reliant on Custom Fields - this includes for images. Because of this, the vast majority of images I upload via the image gallery, are never actually inserted into posts - they're simply uploaded then the short URL ( /uploads/2009/07/filename.jpg) is added to the custom fields alongside the customfield name. This is apparently a problem for the eShop image association logic.

eShop requires not only that the image is "inserted into post" but also that it is inserted with the file location URL selected in the image gallery - this then creates the association between the image, its URL, and the eShop product - this is not explained or stated in the eShop help files, which I am sure is an oversight and will be addressed soon (?)

Having then once done that image insertion and saved the post/page as draft, the image selection link in the eShop add product panel on the post/page creation screen works when taking the shop owner to the choose image panel for the product.

Having chosen the image required in the choose associated images page, and after returning to the saved draft post/page for the product, the images inserted into the page description can be deleted and the short URL returned to the Custom Field as normal.

It's a slightly long way around the issue, but it works.

What would be far better would be to have the eShop plugin use Custom Fields directly via the plugin functions file. This is more in keeping with the direction WordPress is going in, and the direction that many plugins and themes are moving towards.

I hope others having the same experience find the above useful - from the looks of the forums on this site and WordPress.org, lots of people are having this issue and incorrectly blaming it on the upgrade to WP 2.8.x - the issue is not WP 2.8.x - it is from how eShop uses the image to post/page association from the media gallery, instead of either direct URLs or Custom Field entries to the images.

In WP 2.8.1 and eShop 3.6.0 the button to choose a product listing image does not work (page=eshop_products.php)

Currently I have 2 products in an eShop I'm trying to set up - one has a listing image but was created under WP pre-2.7 andeShop pre 3.x

The listing I've just done today with WP 2.8.1 & eShop 3.6.0 has no image and I cannot find any way to get one associated with it.

Has an instruction or tip been removed from the help file and I've simply forgotten how to do it? Or is it a glitch?

Thanks for your help.

Why don't you have screenshots? This is the first thing I look for when searching for plugins. If they don't have screenshots I usually leave.
